Fate and Free-will – Three Viewpoints

Talk by Guest Speaker, 1.00 - 2.00 pm, 14 February 2024.

Featured Speaker:Paul Fenton-Smith
Venue:The Blavatsky Lodge of the Theosophical Society

Are our lives fated and mapped out before we are born or do we have free will to determine our unique destinies? In this talk, author and clairvoyant Paul Fenton-Smith examines the three basic attitudes to fate.

For those who are fatalistic, life is pre-determined. For those who believe in free will, they can change the course of their lives through the decisions they make and the actions they take. Those who believe in free will reason that current circumstances in life are likely to be the result of past decisions and actions or the lack of actions.

There is a third approach to fate that involves accepting that some of the major events in our lives are pre-determined but that we have free will in how we respond to those significant events when they arrive.

Using examples from more than 30 years of clairvoyant readings with clients, Paul suggests that all three beliefs can work and that each unique perception of fate suits those who embrace it. You’ll have a chance to identify your approach to destiny and the different approaches of friends or family members.

Counsellor and clairvoyant Paul Fenton-Smith is the author of thirteen books on personal development. His passion and enthusiasm for his work make him popular on television and as a guest speaker and teacher.

After completing palmistry studies in Adelaide in 1978, Paul moved to Sydney in 1980 and studied tarot reading in 1984. While honing his skills in private practice, he founded the Academy of Psychic Sciences in 1985 to teach palmistry and tarot reading, adding psychic development some years later.

Paul received a Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy in 1986, and received a Graduate Diploma in Aside from his teaching commitments at the Academy, Paul runs a busy private practice in Sydney as a clairvoyant, counsellor and hypnotherapist and conducts courses internationally. Through practising and teaching intuitive studies for more than 40 years, Paul encourages his clients and students to believe only what they can see or experience for themselves. He believes that everyone has intuitive talents and passionately encourages people to explore these areas in practical ways.
